Warhol Vs. The Dark Knight

People...I need your help. We painted our spare bedroom/office a couple of weeks ago. We painted it Fudge Bar by Behr.

It looks fantastic against our black furniture. Now here's the dilemna...we want to hang a new piece of artwork on the new Fudge Bar wall and apparently that decision is left to me. We've done some searching and we've come up with two pieces to choose from. Now I know what Adam is going to say, but I'm looking for objective feedback, not obsessive fan feedback. Should I choose Four Monkeys by Andy Warhol or Batman Begins movie poster with siloutte in brown and black?

Maybe you should let Katharine choose.

I tried that, but that didn't work because she told ME to choose because she likes both of them and she doesn't want to pick!!

How about the two of you get a big piece of canvas and some paints and create your own Jackson Pollock abstract! Now that would be fun and interesting!

No No No...it's Batman or the Monkeys! There's no third option! This is already hard enough.

:-P

Looks like Batman is winning so far. I don't have a preference myself...I like them both too!

while i'm normally somewhat opposed to movie-poster-as-art, i have to say,
dood, batman totally.
california votes for batman.
i can see the hollywood sign sinking into the mud of the hills just a little every moment you consider NOT putting that poster of batman up on your wall. in fact, christian bale stopped over just the other day to tell me that his heart was breaking when he heard you were thinking of NOT putting up that pretty picture of him. you're making the man cry - he's very sensitive, you know. it's a good thing he's able to "use it" ("it" being the suffering YOU'RE causing him) in the next batman that he's working on right now. he told me to tell you that even if you don't put up his picture, it's okay with him if you still go and see the next batman (christian bale holds no grudges - though i hear batman does...) because eventually you'll understand the error of your ways.

warhol can go suck a monkey.

having warhol up would only support the myth that the man had talent instead of just being a hack, while batman begins was a brilliant & beautiful movie that (i think) fits your personalities a little better anyway.

every time you see batman standing there, in majestic silhouette, you can think of bruce wayne's amazing journey of transcendence to become something better than "mere man"; something capable of returning justice to the people and, thereby, giving *hope* and the possibility of a *future* to a people who have lost *everything* to corruption festering in the worst weaknesses in mankind.
he climbed a mountain.
he trained to perfection in a monastery.
he SAVED GOTHAM.
(and it really is a pretty picture that goes well with the nice colors of your wall.)
IS THAT NOT ENOUGH TO MERIT A SPACE ON YOUR WALL?

i'm almost willing to say that you should just send me that poster of batman because you don't DESERVE it for even considering putting up anything else...

if you must have the monkeys, put them in your kitchen or something. or, better yet, on the floor of the kitty litter box - warhol would have wanted it that way.

also - if you're really attached to the idea of having colorful "art" up, even colorful monkey "art", i can point you in some different directions.

love (and miss) ya!
