In a World That Already Has Enough Caffeine

I was flipping through a magazine just a few short hours ago and I came across something that I can only imagine is as foul tasting as it gets. As if the world is not caffeinated enough, and I drink my share of caffeinated beverages as most of you know...Coca-Cola has just released Coca-Cola Blak, which is "a fusion of rich, cold Coke taste with coffee essence to awaken your mind and lift your mood". I think they forgot ROT YOUR GUT and INCREASE YOUR HEART RATE. Who is drinking this shit? Probably the same people that thought White Chocolate Reeses and Kit Kat - Inside Out were cool. Can't we find a perfect product and leave well enough alone? NO...we have to make "well enough" disgusting.

Someone drink this crap and tell me how it tastes because I'm afraid...yet strangely interested at the same time.

Coke "Blak" looks disgusting, but I can't believe that you're hating on white chocolate reeses peanut butter cups! The deliciosity factor of those is totally off the charts!

Caffeine isn't bad, it's a staple in my life, but the Coca Cola Blak just plain doesn't sound good. It sounds like it would be reminescent of cough syrup. Blech.

I thought this new Blak drink was Coca Cola's latest attempt at keeping pace with the energy drink craze. I was also skeptical of the idea of combining cola and coffee flavors. Is Coca Cola trying too hard, I wondered? It made me hesitant to buy the product despite the sleek advertising that seems to make the Coke company tick.

Today, however, I cracked. I fell for their advertisements, and I also needed a pick-me-up. I must say, it's actually an amazing tasting drink. It's refreshing like an ice coffee, but the slight carbonation gives it more kick than any of Dunkin Donuts' drinks. There is very little cola flavor; it's coffee infused with the essence of cola.

mmmm....

My one complaint that I didnt realize until I got home, is that for an 8 ounce glass bottle, I spent $1.79. It's delicious, but not THAT delicious.

I will definitely be buying more of them, especially if they start selling them in 6packs, but I may have to wait for pay day for this drink treat.
