80s Movie Sequels Coming Soon to a Theater Near Me

It's like the 80's all over again. Rocky is returning to the big screen in this Friday's release of "Rocky Balboa", which is really Rocky VI with a new name. I'm going to see it, and I'll tell you why. I grew up on this shit, and if there's a way that the last Rocky I see is NOT Rocky V, then I have to go. I think it's going to be good. Seriously...the plot is solid this time. Even Stallone knows that Rocky V sucked...that's one reason he made this one. Rocky was supposed to die in Rocky V...he didn't and that's a good thing for "Rocky Balboa".

Rocky is not the only 80's hero you'll see again between this year and next. Bruce Willis is back too as John McClane in 2007's "Live Free or Die Hard", Eddie Murphy has signed on to once again bring Axel Foley to life in the fourth "Beverly Hills Cop". No shit...I'm not making any of this up. I just read that today. Rambo IV, Indiana Jones 4, Jurassic Park IV, Star Trek XI...(ok, so that's not exactly an 80's movie series, but deal with it); even if the movies suck...which they very well could...how can you not go see your old heroes make another appearance? I just noticed a pattern as I typed this...most of them are part 4s of the series...although some use the number four while others choose Roman numerals. There was a script for Lethal Weapon 5 at one time, which would kill that 4s theory, but now that Mel Gibson is an ass, they probably won't make that one...ever. And who would go to see it if they did?
