Lacking Hot Beverages on a Cold Night and Zombies Peddling Food at Fenway

It was 48 degrees in Boston last night at game time...it's always below 50 when I'm at the game, but at least this year it didn't rain. I went to the game with my brother, one of his friends, and my friend Bob. Prior to the start of the game, I bought myself a large coffee at Dunkin Fenway...it was the size of a Great One...the extra large if you're at a normal Dunkin Donuts but the price of a Starbucks drink. $4.25 for a cup of coffee and the cup is not even lined with gold.

So the game starts and the food peddlers start walking around. They've got popcorn, cotton candy, cracker jacks, COLD peanuts, Fenway Franks, ICE COLD soda, Papa Ginos pizza, and ICE CREAM. Are you kidding me? Who the hell is going to eat ice cream when it's 45 degrees (the temperature dropped). I know my hands were freezing, my brother forgot to dress in warm layers, and the girl behind us had purple toes...she showed us! And there were zombies peddling pizza. Don't believe me? Check this out (it's not edited in any way)!

Wouldn't it be cool if all of a sudden, all 30,000 plus fans turned into zombies because of the cold? I would have been safe because I've read the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks.

Anyway, back to the game. It was pretty good from the point of view of a non-sports fan. There were some good plays, a fight in the crowd (almost two), the drunk girls in front of us with their mom provided someone to laugh at ("my friend is going to be 21 tomorrow"..."then why is she drinking a beer TODAY?"...should have told her I was a cop). There was the RedSox.Com photographer...I told him I was in the witness protection program so he couldn't take my picture and then I took his. And special thanks to Larry for keeping the isle in front of us clear!

It was a fun night, followed by a late night out in the city. Didn't sleep until 445am...and then it was time for work. Looking forward to the next time with more great pictures and new stories to tell.

See More Pics from the Game!

Sounds like the game was fun in spite of the cold. That pizza man looks like he needs a sammich... or maybe one of his own pizzas.
