Yummy Yum Yum Yum...and Lots of Fire and Goodness

If you live anywhere near Massachusetts...Salem to be exact, you should make it a point to visit Asahi Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. Sure, they tricked us when we walked in and told us it would be a bit of a wait...and then asked us if we wanted to get some sushi at the sushi bar while we waited...they knew we were hungry because we said so when we came in...so we ordered some sushi and then they immediately sat us at one of the four hibachi tables so we could eat our sushi that wasn't really necessary because you get a ton of food...BUT...where was I going with this? Oh yeah...the food is fabulous, it's all cooked right before your eyes in all its flaming goodness.

Our master chef was Kin...if you can get him, you're lucky as he's quite talented. We had fried rice, steak, shrimp, chicken, scallops, more rice with ginger butter, vegetables...I'm SO glad I can eat seafood again (allergy tests came back negative) we were so deliriously full at the end of the night...which is why, when we got the bill...all we could do was laugh, as we left the car behind and walked home.

Holy crap! That's more than a week's groceries cost for all five of us. But hey, you both work hard and deserve a special treat. How's the deck progress?

Pretty close to my initial reaction.

But then, I'm a notorious tightwad, and my idea of a big treat is a bag of pistachios.

And I really hate being hustled into spending more than I intended to. Which is why Jiffilube is always such a noxious experience, even when I hang tough.

HAHA! That was our initial reaction too before we started laughing...because once you've eaten, you have to pay the bill...usually anyway. I forgot to mention that there were 4 of us...not that it makes it much better :-)

Oh yeah, I went to Jiffy Lube and they tried to hustle me too. I just told them I didn't want any of their extras. They tried to sell me something that was "supposed" to be done at 12000 miles...and my car is at 27000 miles. What makes them think it wasn't done earlier. I won't go back to Jiffy Lube.
