Advertising for a Movie and Getting Nothing

Did you know that you could turn yourself into a character from The Simpsons? There are actually two sites...one lets you create yourself as a Simpson's character...the other creates you as a Simpson's character for you based on a picture you upload. I of course uploaded my picture immediately and made one for Katharine too. She hasn't seen it yet. And she's only taller than me in this picture because her Simpson's character is wearing heels!

You can do this too at http://simpsonizeme.com/. Hey, don't The Simpsons and Burger King own me some money now?

Harry Potter and the Long Line at Midnight (No Spoilers Because I Haven't Read the Book)

How many of you had to have "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" on the evening of its release? I didn't either! But Katharine really wanted to get that last book NOW. So off we went at 1145pm on a fool's errand to the nearest Barnes and Noble Bookseller where we were greeted by a jam packed parking lot and TWO lines wrapped around the building. There was a line of the people that reserved the book, which we did not do, and a line of those that would have to wait even longer....you can see both lines here.

The building filled to capacity, so we all stood outside and waited. Some sat at the cafe inside with their lattes and hot chocolates...keeping the rest of us from entering the place. We watched in envy through the window as people browsed the aisles. Why the hell weren't they getting their Harry Potter book and getting the hell out? Did they really have to read it in the store that night?

We finally got to the door about 1245am, where there was nobody to direct us. "Where do we get the book," we asked. "Oh...well, you have to wait until we call your number". We were number 62...they were on 12. Holy shit...are you kidding me?! Over to the cafe we went...and then I was one of those assholes browsing the aisles...only now I understood why. Once you were in...you still had to wait. And when they finally called your number, you had to wait again. Like some sort of Disney World rat line hell...to get a book.

So, she did get her book around 230am, and one day later I now know how the story of Harry Potter ends...and I won't share this with any of you because you'll just have to read it. I didn't read it...I don't read...but Katharine was kind enough to give me a synopsis so I didn't have to wait two years for the Deathly Hallows to be released in a theater near me.

What Do A New Animated Movie, An Autobiography That Nobody is Ever Going to Read, and a Television Script All Have in Common?

Yeah, it's true...they're all things I'm working on and unlikely to finish in the next year. Oh...I should put "a patio" on that list, but that's just about finished believe it or not (thanks to much help from David and Tara). I won't post pictures again until it's done.

Anyway. The next animated Alfred, Unibrow, and the Big Headed Boy movie...that'll be the 5th one and I'm still not getting paid. How long did it take the Simpsons to catch on before they took it off the Tracy Ulman Show and made it it's own? I actually have two great ideas for the next movie... "A Bfuch N Krappy Musical" OR "A Bfuch N Krappy Roast of the Big Headed Boy". Which one do you think would be better? Consider that I'll use the same cast...and if it's a musical...they'll all be singing...so I'd have to write songs...and someone would have to help me with music (I'm looking at Hope and Justin). Post your opinion in comments.

The autobiography...I decided to write down my life for nobody else to ever read. It's for me. I like to tell stories, and I'd hate to forget all my stories should I develop dementia somewhere around my 67th birthday. I got the idea when I was reading "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" by Tucker Max...not that my stories are half as interesting (or inappropriate), but they're mine. I'm not finished reading yet because I read SLOW, SLOW, SLOW...but soon I'll be done.

The television script is actually the 3rd idea I've had and started writing....it has a title...it's called "Other People's Money". It started as a book...and then it was a script...and then it was a TV series...and now it's kind of a book because I'm too cheap to buy the script writing software.

All I need to do now is find time to work on all this, but first I need to finish that patio. Did I mention it's almost done?

I Love The 80's!!!!

by Katharine

Since Jeff has posted past pictures of himself I thought I'd include what is actually one of my favorite pictures of my sister and I, circa 1992.

My sister was getting her picture taken for her senior portraits (remember when you did that a FULL YEAR in advance??? That really messed me up because the person I was dating at the beginning of my senior year was NOT the person I was dating at the end and since I had written a blurb about my utter devotion to boyfriend #1 in my yearbook.. well.. that was kind of embarassing). But I digress... back to the picture. Check out my hair!! I mean really.. CHECK IT OUT!! At the time I was completely obsessed with long, big, poofy hair. I grew it out and sprayed it and teased it and just pretty much destroyed the ozone layer with my complete love of the perfect hairdo. The ultimate goal was for my hair not to move in any way, shape or form. Do you like how I oh so casually tossed it over one shoulder?? Oh, and how I butted my way in to my sister's photo shoot?? I still don't know what I'm doing there. but I feel cheated that Karen didn't choose that particular shot for her yearbook. We do look good though!!
