Katharine Came Back From Vegas and All I Got Was...

Remember last week, I told you all that Katharine was leaving me...she was going to Vegas...some of you thought she was REALLY leaving. Well, she did come back and she brought me PRESENTS! I love presents in case anyone is wondering and has some extra cash lying around. My presents were the most unique presents that a wife gets a husband. I got a T-Shirt that says:

...a shirt that I can't wear ANYWHERE...maybe to my next family breakfast...depending who goes. And the other present I got was a full set of hooker trading cards...that's right, I said HOOKER TRADING CARDS. Apparently all the legal prostitutes in Vegas were handing out business cards on the street and I've got myself a full set...complete with full color photos, phone numbers and "special" prices. I don't think I'd feel good about being the hooker advertised as today's Blue Light Special.

So there I was looking for some friends to trade with and strangely enough, none of my friends have hooker trading cards. Really, it's funny...you have to see them, but I won't post them here since some of you are offended that I even mentioned hooker trading cards. I'll just keep them on my nightstand...just in case. ;-)

What Celebrities Do You Look Like?

OK everyone...here's something you can all play along with! MyHeritage.Com evaluates a picture of you and tells you which celebrities you look most like. Here's my results!

I think I'm offended by some of the results. I ran Katharine's celebrity lookalikes and forgot to change the GENDER option so she ended up with Chuck Norris. HA!

Three Sixty

I gave up most of my video games this week...all of them except for World of Warcraft. I traded them in for the new XBOX 360 which comes with a free subscription of XBOX Live for one month. XBOX Live allows you to play with your friends over the Internet...it's simple really...you send your friend an invite, they accept, and then you play. Of course, your friends must have an XBOX 360 to play a game with you and not many people I know have it. Right now, I have 1 person on my friends list. One. Person. In a day or two, I plan to have 2 whole people on my friends list. We'll see. Anyone out there have an XBOX 360 and the new version of Ghost Recon? Send me your gamertag name and let's play!

Katharine's Leaving Me

It's true...it was only a matter of time really. It only took her a month to realize that she had to get away. Katharine decided that it was finally time to go out for her bachelorette party in Vega$! For a WHOLE WEEKEND. I know what you're all thinking. First thing everyone thinks of when they hear Vegas. "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"...blah blah blah...and all that. But what happens in Vegas also happens in Boston while it's happening in Vegas so be careful. For example...I know, when I'm replacing the door at home, Katharine will be locked out of her hotel room and trying to kick the door down. When I'm rebuilding the brick wall outside...stacking bricks, Katharine will be stacking chips. When I'm feeding Monty, and I suppose Lily has to eat too...and the fish...damn it...I hadn't considered all my weekend chores until now.

If you read this far, you've probably guessed that Katharine is coming back after Vegas...as far as I know anyway. If for no other reason, she probably doesn't trust me to keep the animals alive. So any of you that were fooled by the title "Katharine is Leaving Me"...well, that's foolish isn't it? But I suppose stranger things have happened. Consider that I'd probably write about that too.

I Can Cook a Whole Lotta Stuff but I Can't Blend Lemonade

I don't have any trouble broiling a steak, roasting a chicken, frying up eggs, or boiling pasta, but apparently I can't crush ice to save my life.

I was making Dels frozen lemonade at home...you can buy their secret mixture online and the directiions seemed pretty simple. If you've never had it, you're missing out!

Add the packet of mixture. Add two cups of ice. Add a cup of water. Blend for 30seconds. Easy right? You'd think, but not so much. Apparently I should have added a little bit of ice at a time and not all two cups at once. Silly brand new blender couldn't handle the pressure. After 5 minutes of chopping pureeing and liquifying my drink was ready...I drank it up...or rather, I ate it with a spoon because I put TOO MUCH ICE. Seriously...2 cups is 2 cups isn't it? I guess I put in 2 HEAPING cups. Ah well...Maybe I'll just mix it with water next time and have plain old boring lemonade.

The Animals Outnumber the People...This is Madness...We're Doomed

When is the number of animals you have, too many animals? I've always felt, as I know others have, that the number of animals in your house should never outnumber the number of people. In our house, the number of people is two. The number of animals was two up until a few days ago when that doubled to FOUR.

No matter how you slice it, a giant clumsy greyhound, a big boned kitty (who has been referred to as a badger, but she's ours and we love her), and two fish equal 4 animals. Katharine and I, at least until cloning humans is legal, equal 2 people. How'd that happen? Didn't we have a rule? We did have a rule, but fish are small and incredibly relaxing to watch. We got Betta fish which are supposedly the easiest fish in the world to take care of. I always feel bad for them because you can't put them in with other fish, but I've seen what happens when you don't follow that rule. I've broken that rule and it's not pretty...I blame the guy at the pet store that said you could put them in with goldfish. He was wrong. Anyway...that was years ago...moving on.

We got two fish, one for Katharine to take care of and one for me. She named hers Uglie with an "IE" because truthfully, he is. I think that's why she picked him. Mine is sleek with dark colors. I named him Darth Betta...because it's a cool name for a fish. I think Uglie is jealous because his name is Uglie. No seriously, I don't think he cares. I think he's just happy to get out of that tiny cup they keep them in at the store.

I'm still on a quest to provide my Betta fish with some company...maybe a snail. I think it'll be OK because snails have shells. They should be safe, right?

How Many Projects is Too Many?

Am I the only one that has assigned himself far too many projects? So many projects that I couldn't possible complete them in a reasonable period of time. And I'm not talking about WORK projects...I'm talking about the important things in life...the things you don't get paid for...the projects you work on because you have an interest in them. Some people call them hobbies.

So you might be wondering, what kind of projects are we talking about. At this very moment...ok, well maybe not this VERY moment because it's late, but you know what I mean...I'm writing a book, writing a movie, writing a television series, developing my 4th animated movie, taking an online graphic design class AND taking a filmmaking class...phew.

All of that stuff of course comes AFTER (if I'm going to get any points here) spending time with Katharine. It's stuff I'm working on when she's watching quality programming like QVC and Animal Cops. All of those projects also come after watching all my shows and movies, which I've discovered to be a little overwhelming this season and I foolishly watched the first five minutes of "The Nine" and got instantly sucked in.

I always wonder what OTHER people do during their SPARE time (which is a little like talking about SPARE CHANGE)...I wonder if other people are doing something fun that I don't know about. So what do you do when you have some "ME" time?
